Shanna attended UCLA
School of Arts and Architecture and left to
focus
on real world experience.
Naturally interested in make-up,
Shanna worked creatively with national
cosmetic brands:
- Nars
- Make-Up Forever
- Urban Decay
- Tony and Tina
- Hard Candy
She began her entrepreneurial journey
at eighteen years old by co-founding and creating an
upscale athletic female clothing line company, Sportline.
Clients
included teams within the:
- NBA – National Basketball
Association
- MLB – Major League Baseball
- NHL – National Hockey League
With the desire to expand her creative
horizons, Shanna sold Sportline and moved to New York
City, the epicenter of fashion and design. NYC provided
rare opportunities that included working with some of
the most prestigious fashion designers
and photo shoots in the world such as:
- Versace Campaign photo shoot
by Steven Meisel
- Kenneth Cole, Badgley Mischka and Joop shows during Fashion Week at Bryant Park
- VH1 Divas Live
- Vogue Fashion Awards
Shanna felt it was her turn to take
her unique and bold creative side and share it with
the world. By creating Genre Style,
handmade wearable art pieces that document pop culture
in its most authentic light.
Once Genre
Style progressed,
Shanna found representation as a ‘wearable art
stylist’ in Hollywood, CA.
Media outlets such as Vh1
and Style.com
started following Shanna’s career and highlighted
some of her work.
Original
pieces include:
- Punk Rock Jacket signed by Johnny Rotten
of the Sex Pistols and Ian Astbury
of the Cult
- A Nine Inch Nails Jacket/Belt
signed byTrent Reznor, Jerome Dillion

Adding to the Genre Brand,
Shanna co-created Genre Collection,
a line of fashionable hip purses and mp3 accessories
that have been sold in Fred Segal, custom orders through Henri Bendel,
Target.Com and many other retail outlets (over
45 boutiques nation wide). Due to mass merchandising
opportunities, Genre Collection eventually turned into
a private label shop.
Genre Collection’s
diverse clientele ranged from Duke
University to iRiver

“It’s
time for designers to own their individual freedom,
and I’m excited to be a part of a new e-commerce
vehicle that will allow designers that opportunity.
The
traditional concept of design and fashion retailing
will come to a halt with I Represent
